Starting 2014 With A Knit Slate

Happy New Year, everyone! :) Here's my first outfit post for this year, and it's my first time to channel a preppy outfit cocooned in thick layers of clothing. You see, this is the thickest and closest I'll ever gussy up for that wintry vibe since we don't really have winter here in the Philippines. It's possible to sport this look here during Ber-month nights when the puff of air is quite cold, but I wouldn't dare to wear this outfit on an extremely sunny day, that is if I don't want to feel like being roasted alive. I would be in so much jeopardy if that happens. Lol. Basically, this is my attempt to give you guys an idea on how to doll up using knitted sweater (a really fluffy one at that) and jeggings for a cold season, while I envy the rest of the world for having winter and being able to put on fur and leather without shedding even a slightest bit of sweat! This is the time when teleportation would have come in handy! Nevertheless, it's entirely wrong to kick off the new year green with envy so I'm just imagining how happy you guys are under the snow with those beautiful smiles on your face, hence it seems like I'm also there. :) Again, happy new year! I hope you guys would stay with me! Let's make 2014 our year! *insert fireworks here*

Lovin' Leopard

December is finally here!!! Did I just wake up from a deep slumber because it sure feels like it was only January yesterday, and now we're down to the last month of the year! It's hard to believe time flies as fast as that. Reality check, as it gets going it only leaves us with a pocketful of happiness, despair, contentment, and regrets.. but a bagful of memories, nonetheless. Boy they were not kidding when they said time is gold! (pun intended lol) Which only reminds us that we should take pleasure in every moment of every day while we're at it. Now I'm being sentimental and you're probably thinking how's that related to my leopard outfit. To be completely honest, I also don't see how they're connected! Haha silly me! Of course, I'm just kidding. Let me explain it. So the day these outfit shots were taken, me and my girl friends literally savored our day by having a photoshoot. It was really random and totally in a jiffy! We had a lot of fun posing for the camera and throwing hilarious jokes-slash-insults because that's how we roll. Haha. And that's us being our normal selves! It was just an ordinary day but it's the memories that make it heck of a special one. Definitely one for the books. :) So there goes my explanation (or excuse)! Haha! About my outfit, whoever agrees that the top and shoes I'm wearing were totes made for each other, say aye! The Zara-inspired origami skort is a hit just by itself as well. Love Makes The World Go Round

I know you've heard this blog post's title a gazillion times before. It's probably your definition of love, perhaps the one you write on your friends' slum books at all times. Lol. But then, these are just words and they'll always be words unless defined. 

For the past two weeks, I've been receiving messages from some of my followers asking me if I'm okay (which is really touching, I feel loved heehee) as they heard about the Super Typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan which literally took the Philippines by storm. I live in Luzon so we were spared from this calamity. However, the Visayas region of the Philippines were not.

It was the strongest typhoon ever recorded and it definitely brought devastation (physically and emotionally) not only in the Philippines, but around the world as well. Thousands of houses, lands, and establishments in ruins, thousands of lives lost... Watching the news regarding this is already painful, so I just couldn't imagine the agony the casualties are going through. Depression is not even the right word to describe what I feel towards this ruthless catastrophe. I'm quite sure you guys feel the same way too. We can't change what has been done and we can't fix what has been broken, but we can always start again. Everyone has problems and everyone experiences pain because this is not a perfect world. It's a slice of what we signed up for in this mere existence. And I suppose this is the part where I say, "It's not how many times you fall, but how many times you get back up". 

If there's one and probably the only good thing that this trying time has achieved, it would be the moment where diverse countries unite as one. It's totally overwhelming how different nations from all over the world came together to send their love and help to the Philippines in this tough instance. We can't thank you enough for everything you've done. We will never forget. 

There are still a lot of people crying for help. As for me, I know I had to do something that's why I made contributions as much as I can.  And to everyone who's reading this, it is never too late to lend a hand. It may sound so cliché, but it is always better to give than to receive.

Let us all remember that whatever problem comes our way, God is still stronger than all of them. And no matter how many times we feel like drowning in life, remember that Jesus our Savior walks on water. Just have faith.

Sporty Vibe

On my previous blog post, I was ranting about how we're still experiencing dire sunny days on a rainy season here in the Philippines. Last week, our country had gone through a rough time as we face yet another calamity.

Tropical storm 'Maring' hit the Philippines and left a huge havoc in every Filipino's home. Flooded and wrecked houses, schools, establishments, streets - which, by the way, seemed like a newly formed ocean! It was indeed quite devastating. Never in my entire life would I want to witness that kind of catastrophe again. I felt guilty about raving last time. I guess it's true what they say, "Be careful what you wish for 'cause you just might get it". I sure did get mine.. the tough way. Lol.

Since cuddle weather is finally here, it's time to bring out 'em sweaters and pullovers! If you don't know yet, I'm such a sucker for these stuffs. I own a lot but hardly wear them because I live in a tropical country.*sniffs* That's why I love the rainy season so much (not the stormy season just to be clear lol)! Though it's already rainy here, it's still not that cold. I suppose I need to hide the thicker ones for now and save them for the Ber months. Don't get me wrong. I'm not talking about the really thick type of clothing usually worn during winter because sadly, we don't have winter here. *sniffs sniffs*

If you still haven't realized (which I'm sure you did lol), I'm wearing a pair of jeans again. I told you guys how much I love wearing jeans! It was a totally lazy day when these photos were taken, therefore, I went for the sporty and unfussy get up. Black top and jeans, such a gloomy mix, right? That's why this cute sweater from Fancy Bumblebee saved the day! The pop of color turned one dark outfit to a bright one! Not to mention the happy vibe these Coach sneakers brought to the whole outfit! Even though this pair of shoes is one size bigger than mine (American size, that is), I still felt comfortable in it! I've never been this sporty! Lol! What do you think?

Chilly and Lazy

Since classes are suspended due to a bad weather, I absolutely didn’t go out basically the whole day. However, me and my roomies decided to have dinner and went grocery shopping at the nearest mall. Haha I know, I took outfit shots inside the grocery store ;) I need to be resourceful. Haha!

Given that the climate is certainly chilly today (I’m not complaining, in point of fact, I so love it), I’ve settled on this outfit. Oversized top and cardigan paired with jeggings and accentuated with a beanie/bonnet is the perfect garb for an icy and oh-so-lazy day like this. What do you think? :)
