Starting 2014 With A Knit Slate

Happy New Year, everyone! :) Here's my first outfit post for this year, and it's my first time to channel a preppy outfit cocooned in thick layers of clothing. You see, this is the thickest and closest I'll ever gussy up for that wintry vibe since we don't really have winter here in the Philippines. It's possible to sport this look here during Ber-month nights when the puff of air is quite cold, but I wouldn't dare to wear this outfit on an extremely sunny day, that is if I don't want to feel like being roasted alive. I would be in so much jeopardy if that happens. Lol. Basically, this is my attempt to give you guys an idea on how to doll up using knitted sweater (a really fluffy one at that) and jeggings for a cold season, while I envy the rest of the world for having winter and being able to put on fur and leather without shedding even a slightest bit of sweat! This is the time when teleportation would have come in handy! Nevertheless, it's entirely wrong to kick off the new year green with envy so I'm just imagining how happy you guys are under the snow with those beautiful smiles on your face, hence it seems like I'm also there. :) Again, happy new year! I hope you guys would stay with me! Let's make 2014 our year! *insert fireworks here*

Year-End Post: Thank you, 2013!

This is not a fashion post nor a beauty one. I would like to write this off as, to a certain extent, a contemplation and thanksgiving blog post so bear with me for this may possibly be lengthy.

2013 has been a whirlwind of peaks and valleys--not just for me, but pretty much for everyone else. As most of us experienced our personal setbacks, some went through tumultuous dilemmas with the whole world as their witness. Problem after problem, disaster after disaster.. And the cycle went on. In spite of these circumstances we faced and continue facing, there are still a lot of things to be thankful for. Yes, you might have hit rock bottom or probably, as T. Swift says, you're "lying on a cold hard ground", but that doesn't mean you're left with nothing because for crying out loud, you have your life--you're alive.. right here, right at this moment. You're given a chance to see the world again in an entirely different perspective, a chance to re-establish the life you have. I don't know about you but that's something I'm totally grateful for.

Writing has always been one of my passions and it keeps me in high spirits. I remember the first time I joined an essay writing contest back in gradeschool. I didn't have faith in myself back then as I only write essays and home reading reports because we're obliged to, not because I love doing them. When I won the contest, I learned to consider writing as a hobby, embraced it, and loved it. Can you imagine how happy I was when I started blogging? I've been blogging since my multiply.com days so I can quite say that the blogosphere is my safe haven (I think I've said that before lol). From writing on papers to blogging anything that floats my boat. Not that I stopped writing on papers when blogging came on the scene. Haha. I still love doing the old-school style because in my honest opinion, it's still more meaningful when words are written on paper. But then again, welcome to the 21st century where everything is high-tech. I started fashion blogging late 2011 or early 2012, I believe. Fashion bloggers started popping up during that time. I, for one thing, also love dressing up and blogging so I told myself, hey why not give it a go. Back then, I wasn't really conscious if I posted every 5 months or what (true story lol) because I honestly thought no one ever reads my blog except from me. Haha! But now, I must say that little by little, this blog is gaining readers and followers, as well. So I'm slightly pressured to update this blog and my Lookbook page at least once a week! Lol! Nevertheless, I'm utterly grateful to each and every one of you for taking your precious time to read my blog posts and comment on my posts/looks. Every hype, hit, and comment truly warms my heart. Thank you soooo much. This year, I also started collaborating with various local and international online shops. I'm really thankful to all the shops who trusted me. It means a lotttt. And of course I would like to thank Mariell, who always patiently takes my outfit shots. Long story short, I never thought writing would bring me somewhere (I'm not there yet but you get me lol). This blog improved a lot this year and I hope and pray that it will be better (and bigger) this 2014. I wish you guys would stick with me! :)

Personally, this year has been good to me. Less drama, more fun. I'm just so happy that I have my family, friends, and God. Thank you so much, 2013. Here's to an even better 2014! :)

Christmas Hangover

What took off in such a haste and just left me hanging? Yes folks, you got it right-- Christmas. (And for you guys who thought it's something/one else, you have a malicious mind! Haha just kidding!) How was it? How did you celebrate it? I bet some of you are on Christmas hangover just like me. Sigh. In fact, I am munching on our Christmas leftovers as we speak. Haha! (Please don't judge me! Please? Please? Pretty please?) You would understand me if your mom is a good cook as well, that you'd eat everything she prepares on the table even if that means eating them over and over again! Makes sense, right? Fine, maybe I really am just a fatty mcfatterson lol! Hey, this is the season to be jolly, and eating makes me jolly so there goes my excuse! (Shame on me, I know haha) Anyway, let's cut to the chase, shall we? These photos were taken a few days ago but this is the exact dress I wore on Christmas day. At first, I wanted to wear something green or red to keep the Christmas festivity vibe going on, but I didn't want to be accused of wearing Christmas fatigues so I went with this plain nude dress. I chose to cinched my waist with this brown belt to add a pop of color. Since I'm keeping my look all neutral, I just sticked to nude and brown hues because they belong to the same color family and these two are good for color blocking. With a simple outfit like this, sometimes you just have to let your shoes do the talking. These heels highly complemented my look. Did I mention how nice they are? The gold embellishment definitely added refinement to the whole get up. I wanted to carry on the subtlety of this look so I settled on minimal accessories. What do you think?

Honeymoon Avenue

Holiday break is finally here and I'm just sooooo happy! Two weeks without thinking about nail-biting school works is the best Christmas gift I've received yet. Lol. I have a few things on my to-do list this vacay and yes, blogging is definitely included. I have so much in store for the coming weeks so stay tuned! For now, let me show you my take on a rather sweet look which is very Ariana Grande-esque. You see, Ariana used to wear this kind of hair style on all the events she attended to during her Victorious days. This is one of her trademarks. Geez, I love her songs and her adorable style. She looks so cute, charming, and sugary when she dresses up but she's a diva on stage - her voice is so divine! I'd trade anything to be her even just for a day! Oh, the fangirl in me! Okay, I should probably stop talking now because this post might end up as a novel about the love and frustrations of a fan girl a.k.a. me. Lol. Enjoy!
